James Day - Chordoma UK
My Story
I am running the London marathon in October 2022 in memory of my godmother Sue Fitz-Gibbon and to raise money for the important research of her charity, Chordoma UK. I’d be grateful for your support.
Sue and her husband Gerry established Chordoma UK after Sue’s diagnosis in 2007. At the time, there was almost no information available about this rare form of bone cancer and the aim was to raise funds for research being carried out at UCL Cancer Institute.
Today, Chordoma UK continues to financially support ground breaking research initiatives at UCL Cancer Institute and other institutions whilst underpinning the UK Chordoma community through support and information resources. The reach of her charity is a testament to the energy and passion Sue had throughout her life.
By running for Chordoma I hope to raise both funds and also awareness which is crucial in ensuring that money reaches rarer and poorly funded diseases.
James
