About us
West London Action for Children offers a range of free counselling and therapeutic services for vulnerable children, young people, parents and families living on low incomes in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) or the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (LBHF). We support families under stress to develop their confidence and skills to cope with the ordinary and extraordinary challenges of family life.
We work with families who have faced domestic abuse, resettlement, bereavement, historical trauma, ongoing mental health concerns, anxiety and depression, and isolation. We know that for most of the families we support, the external stresses they face around poverty, unemployment and poor housing have been exacerbated over the last two years, adding to their worries, fears and anxieties.
As a small local charity, we can act quickly and offer tailored packages of individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy and counselling, as well as providing groups and one-to-one support to vulnerable children and young people in local schools. Our services are time-unlimited, and clients can criss-cross between them, which means we are able to offer a service that is as flexible as possible for our clients.
