My Story

Hi

It's heartbreaking that I'm having to write this story.

2 years ago my friends daughter, Holly was diagnosed with a very rare condition - Bloom's Syndrome. There are only about 800 people in the world with this life limiting condition. One of the effects of Blooms is childhood cancers and while Holly's family were  still trying to come to terms with the recent Bloom's diagnosis she was diagnosed with a tumour. She has spent the last 2 years fighting one tumour after another. The problem is that the Bloom's syndrome stops the chemotherapy from doing it's job. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago Holly became seriously poorly and we are all praying every day that she can find the strength to fight this cruel condition.

I am running not one but two marathons this year! It will definitely be a challenge as they are only 6 months apart. My biggest challenge will be training through the summer instead of sitting in the garden with a nice cold beer 🍺🀣  I have  been lucky enough to be offered a place with this amazing charity Children With Cancer Uk who I will be raising as much money as possible for. My aim is to also raise as much awareness as possible in the hope that  a treatment can be found.

No child should have to go through this.

Please support this very worthy charity by donating what you can and please keep beautiful, brave Holly and her incredibly strong family in your prayers
