My Story
Its a dream to run the London Marathon and this will hopefully become reality on Sunday 2nd October this year (praying to remain injury free).
I am not a practiced runner so this is a huge personal challenge in which I would greatly appreciate as much support as possible to help me raise money for my chosen charity Ambitious about Autism. I am towards the end of my training plan now (which started back in March) and most days its a serious mental challenge to get one foot out of the door and take the first few strides.
All donations will help to keep me motivated knowing that the money raised will go towards making a difference in someone’s life. As I have progressed throughout my career it is evident that several people are disadvantaged when it comes to job opportunities and more needs to be done to address this.
We all have ambitions for our future and young people with autism are no different – yet the sad reality is that the move from education to employment is often difficult for many of them. Less than 22% of autistic people are in any kind of paid employment, and fewer than one in four autistic young people access education or training beyond school. It’s time this changed, and we can all help drive this change.
For autistic children and young people to truly thrive they need support in all areas of their lives and should have equal rights to education and employment.
Please donate, keep me motivated and let’s make a difference.
Thank You
Stacey
