My Story

Its such an exciting time as I’m training for the London marathon and raising money for my chosen charity Solace Women’s Aid.

Solace is a domestic abuse charity based in London who support women and children who have experienced violence. I'm running for Solace as additional funding is needed to continue with their much needed services which include advice and support and accommodation for survivors. Solace aims to work to prevent violence and abuse to women and to meet the specific needs of the individual.

  • 1 in 3 women will experience abuse in their lifetime
  • 1 in 4 children and young people experienced physical abuse over the year.
  • 1 in 10 of all recorded offences in London are domestic abuse related.
  • 85,000 women are raped in England and Wales every year.

I’ve always had a love of running and found it very therapeutic. I run for my local running club and take part in parkrun, 10k events and half marathons. Running the London marathon is fun opportunity for me as I have previously only ran half marathons. I have challenged myself this year to run a half marathon a month.

It’s a great summer for sport particularly as the Commonwealth Games came to Birmingham. The Queens baton relay came to my local park which was such an inspiration to see.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
