My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my donation page.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a complex and rare neuromuscular condition.

SMA affects an estimated 1 in 10,000 births. In 2020, this would have been 68 babies a year in the UK who were born with SMA, of which some 60% (41) would have the most severe SMA Type 1.

My daughter Rubi was one of the babies affected by SMA Type 1, and it is in her memory I am running the London Marathon. She would have been 13 this year.

Please help me raise funds for this amazing charity which continues to support families affected by SMA with emotional support, practical advice and guidance; as well as advocate for access to treatment, better care and services; resources for health, education and social care professionals.
