My Story

I will be running my 9th marathon this year on behalf of my charity. As some of you will know, I am very passionate about helping others and have now been a trustee for Task Brasil for over 12 years. Like the race itself, it has been a marathon not a sprint.

Over this time and before, we have worked really hard to support the poor street children in Rio, who simply dont have good opportunities in life. Their reality is very difficult and humbling. I am very proud that during the pandemic, we helped deliver food parcels to the most vulnerable, helping to keep them and their families alive. Sad but true.

This year will be extra special as I will be running with my friend Nick, who is a true inspiration to me and many others. Having recovered from cancer twice, he has decided to run the marathon for the first time on behalf of Task Brasil. A monumental task indeed.
