My Story
I'm running the London Marathon for pancreatic cancer research!
Before signing up for the London Marathon, I had never really run much further than 10K.
I've done a fair handful of parkruns and regularly go out jogging but never really took on a huge challenge like a marathon. Now, I have a shot at finishing my first marathon. It's a massive personal challenge but more importantly, an opportunity to help raise some money to help doctors and scientists to better understand pancreatic cancer. It is a swift and deadly cancer and much research is needed to learn more about the causes and treatments.
Ralph Bates was 50 when he died from pancreatic cancer having been diagnosed just six weeks earlier. I will be 50 when I start the London Marathon.
