My Story

This is the third London Marathon I will have run - but the first where I'll be running in fancy dress.

Planet Earth is currently in a biodiversity crisis, with more than 26,000 species currently listed as Endangered or Critically Endangered by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, and many thousands more listed as Vulnerable. Some species - rhinos, tigers, orangutans - are household names that receive levels of funding and attention on a par with their fame. But many are unknown: the overlooked and underfunded.

Synchronicity Earth exists to address these gaps in the global conservation agenda. It directs vital funding to the species that people often haven't heard of. Through their partners, they work in areas where there is an urgent need for conservation action and develop programmes which make a powerful difference to species, habitats and local people.

To raise awareness and celebrate the excellent work Synchronicity Earth do for the less famous species, I will be running dressed either as a bird, a frog, or a fish that isn't well known globally but is threatened with extinction.
