My Story

First of all, thank you so much for visiting my Cherry Lodge Cancer Care fundraising page.

I’ve wanted to run the London marathon, ever since I ran my first marathon back in 2016. I entered every year to get an entery ticket through the ballot, but with no luck. So when my parent’s next door neighbour Ruth, who is the trustee of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care asked me if I wanted to run this year’s London Marathon (2nd October 2022) for their charity, I jumped at the occasion.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is an independent charity based in Barnet. They are committed to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their carers, family and friends in an area centred on Barnet, and covering much of North London and South Hertfordshire. They provide nurse-led support, advice & complementary therapies for people who have been diagnosed with Cancer.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is now completely dependent on voluntary contributions following the cutting of the NHS and local government grants that previously covered a small percentage of their running costs. Any amount you can sponsor me, will help them carry on with their amazing work.

I’m really honoured to be running on behalf of this wonderful charity. 26.2 miles is a tough distance to run, but it is nothing compared to what people go through when then are diagnosed with cancer. Thanks to places like Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, they will be able to find support and help they need during the hard times. Every penny we raise will make a difference.
