My Story

If you know me you'll know from being a youngster and watching it on the telly, to the present day I've always wanted to run the London Marathon. I vowed that if I hadn't got in through the ballot by the time I was 50 I would seek a charity place. Well the time is ticking on...

And then I discovered a small charity called NAM aidsmap, who work to change lives by providing information on HIV and AIDS. NAM was established in the 80s in response to the emerging UK HIV epidemic and the misinformation, prejudice, fear and confusion about HIV and AIDS at that time.

A group of volunteers created a source of calm, authoritative, trustworthy and plain language information on which those affected by the condition could rely. Today they are a highly respected global provider of high-quality information on HIV and AIDS for all communities of people affected by HIV, and their mission of providing crucial information that is independent, clear and accurate remains unchanged.

So I've taken on the challenge of the marathon and committed to undertaking some much needed fundraising for them. I really hope you can get behind me and help support NAM aidsmap, as it's important that the smaller charities are as equally supported during these big events, they all do some great work.
