My Story

This year as I have turned 50 I have set myself a challenge to run the Iconic London marathon.
I am running the marathon for the Bhopal Medical Appeal which helps provide free medical care & social & therapeutic support for tens of thousands of people whose lives continue to be devastated by Union Carbide's 1984 gas disaster in Bhopal, India. The appeal works with grassroots partners, many of whose staff come from the same impoverished communities as the families they are helping. These are neighbourhoods where many people still suffer long-term health impacts of poison gas and/or water contaminated by toxic wastes leaching from the abandoned pesticides factory and where birth defects are running around 7 times higher than the rest of India.
