My Story

I’ve grown up watching the marathon every year and can’t help but be moved by watching people running for causes that mean so much to them. Finally securing my own place on the start line is a dream come true as most of you know I have applied for charity and ballot places every year since i turned 18!

We lost my Dad on 2nd March 2015, 6 years after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and later as a result of this diagnosis developed Lewy Body Dementia. As a neurologist himself he sadly was aware of what his prognosis looked like. The disease is cruel and debilitating and sadly there’s still no cure and other families are going through the harsh realities of what the disease means for those diagnosed and those around them.

Researchers are getting closer and closer to finding effective treatments so every pound donated goes towards vital research that can hopefully one day reduce the impact Parkinson’s has and stop little girls from having their Daddys taken away from them far too prematurely💙💙

My Dad was an avid runner and had run some of the worlds most famous marathons. I’ll be no way near his 3 hour pace but I’ll try my best!!
