My Story

Hi, I’m running the 2022 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for Crohn's and Colitis UK. I was diagnosed with Ulcerated Colitis over 10 years ago and have been managing the condition ever since. Crohn's and Colitis are lifelong conditions and affect over 300,000 people in the UK. Symptoms can include swollen, inflamed, and ulcerated gut which can cause diarrhoea, blood in your stools, weight loss, tiredness and tummy pain.

I have never run a marathon before and at the age of 47, with a supportive wife and two young children, the real challenge will be balancing the 20+ weeks of training needed to get me to the start line in good shape.

Every day, people are diagnosed with Crohn's or Colitis, the two main forms of inflammatory bowel disease. Crohn's and Colitis UK is an established charity whose ultimate aim is to use research to improve the lives of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis and, ultimately, to find a cure.
