Running in memory of Linda
Jason Smith
My Story
I have been offered the chance to run this year's London Marathon on the 2nd October for the St Wilfrid's Hospice in Bosham. I am doing this in memory of my mother-in-law, Linda Banting, who we sadly lost to pancreatic cancer in July 2021.
Linda was an amazing, caring and loving person. A dedicated mother to my wife, Jess, and a wonderful grandmother to our two children. She was also a much loved and respected member of the local Bosham community, as well as in our area of Baffins in Portsmouth, where she lived for 10 years when Jess was growing up. We all miss Linda very much.
St Wilfrid's hospice played an important role in caring for Linda in the last few months of her life for which we are eternally grateful. They are virtually totally reliant on charitable donations in order to undertake the amazing work they do, and I am honoured to have this opportunity to give something back to them.
