My Story

On Sunday 2 October I will be running the London Marathon. In completing my run of 26.2 miles I am hoping to raise funds for Chailey Heritage Foundation where my son attends school.

My son has cerebral palsy, and as a result he struggles with his physical movement and complex health needs. Despite his struggles he is a determined bright boy who loves to be active and engaging with the world and people around him.

Chailey Heritage Foundation are a pioneering charity that support children and young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs. They enable children who face many challenges, with the correct support, these children are able to reach incredible achievements.

They have supported our son, enabling him to continue to be giving opportunities in which he is able to still take part in physical activities and movements that he loves so much, horse riding and riding his tricycle being two of his most favourite. He is able to access technologies & adaptations that give him a sense of achievement and purpose in his life, he is able to be engaged socially with other children that have the same struggles he faces.

Chailey Heritage Foundation need on going funds to ensure they can continue to provide the very best specialist equipment and facilities to help children learn, develop skills and enjoy new experiences.

I am looking forward to taking on the London Marathon as tough as I know it’s going to be. In doing so I hope to raise funds for Chailey Heritage Foundation and I know your donations will help the school to continue to inspire children to achieve.
