My Story

Thank you for visiting my page.
I’m Evie Headland, I’m 19, and I’m excited to announce that on the 2nd October 2022 I shall be running the London Marathon to raise much needed funds for the charity Blind Veterans UK.
Whilst this is something I am excited about I am also a little daunted by!
I took up running more seriously during the first lockdown and found this helped me both mentally and physically. I have never ran any kind of full marathon before but I am a very determined person and aim to achieve my absolute best! I have taken part in several challenges that have tested me both mentally and physically.
My family has proud service history during WW1 WW2 and more recently.I chose the charity Blind veterans UK as they offer lifelong and life-changing support to Armed Forces and national service veterans, no matter what the cause of their sight loss, and they do an amazing job in supporting them. Blind veterans was founded in 1915 and since then they have helped thousands of ex-service men and women who have lost their sight.
The money I raise will help provide support to blind veterans where they need it, so they are able to regain independence and discover life after sight-loss.
The training is going to be hard and a real test, but I am motivated by all of the support I am receiving and I am very excited for the journey

Please help me support this charity which I am very proud to be running for. Your donations will mean so much and make a difference.
Thanks again,
Evie
