My Story
I'm David Simmonds, Member of Parliament for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner since 2019. Family, friends and colleagues will agree that I am not a runner, and so to say that they were surprised when I signed up for the London Marathon would be an understatement. However, it is an important opportunity to challenge myself while raising money for very important local charities. Though the decision was not easy, I have chosen to fundraise for The William Low Trust and The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, as I know how valued their work is by constituents.
This page is for the William Low Trust.
"Will was a delightful cherubic baby boy with golden curls, plump kissable cheeks and a calm and loving nature. Adored by his parents and big sister Harriet, he grew into a busy toddler and affectionate child taking easily to school and making lots of friends."
About the William Low Trust
The William Low Trust began on the 14th February 2019 after William tragically lost his battle against (Medulloblastoma) brain tumours on the 11th August 2017 after a stoic battle for many years. He was just 17.
Through various local fundraisers, the William Low Trust has been raising money for brain tumour research, to help stop the devastaing impact of brain tumours on sufferers and their families, and the funds that I raise will be a helpful contribution to this research.
