My Story

I'm David Simmonds, Member of Parliament for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner since 2019. Family, friends and colleagues will agree that I am not a runner, and so to say that they were surprised when I signed up for the London Marathon would be an understatement. However, it is an important opportunity to challenge myself while raising money for very important local charities. Though the decision was not easy, I have chosen to fundraise for The William Low Trust and The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, as I know how valued their work is by constituents.

This page is for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre.

About the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre in Northwood provides leading edge scanning services to the NHS and private health sectors for the diagnosis, treatment monitoring and research of cancer and other serious diseases.

We offer the highest quality imaging services with specialist staff giving our patients the opportunity of a healthier future.

We currently need help raising a total of £1.6 million for a new MRI scanner, essential equipment and the most advanced software. The new scanner will ensure cancer patients at Mount Vernon Hospital get an early diagnosis and accurate monitoring of their cancer, boosting their treatment outcomes and survival chances.

The demand for MRI scans is growing year after year, as people with cancer are fortunately living longer than ever before. MRI Scans are used throughout a patient’s treatment, which makes them a crucial part of patient care.
