My Story
In 2012 my lovely gran (Ouma Rita) was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, a disease I had never heard of and truthfully knew little about. However as the years went on I saw her lose her ability to properly walk, talk or even eat. She was under full time care and had become a shadow of herself. It was awful to see such a strong kind caring lady suffer to such a horrid disease.
Due to her being diagnosed late in life it meant she deteriorated quickly and she unfortunately passed in March 2020 after her 8 year battle. However this doesn't have to be the case for everyone, if diagnosed early enough many go on to live long healthy lives.
This is why I am so passionate about the work Parkinson's UK do and why I am running the marathon for them. As not only do they raise awareness but they also help individuals with Parkinson's as well as their families throughout the journey.
Any donations you could make would be greatly appreciated! Love Danni 💙
