My Story
Well, hello.
Hulloo!
It's lovely that you're here. Thank you for stopping by.
I know that a lot of purse strings have had to be tightened lately, and the Age of the Internet has brought a good many more requests for sponsorship to your daily existence.
So. Really. Thank you for being here.
I am fundraising for children who, through no fault of their own, have been born to actor parents.
The Actors' Children's Trust is a tremendous organisation that gives money and informed advice to support the children of professional actors. The money can be used to cover childcare, activities, state school costs, supporting Special Educational Needs, funding therapies, and relief during a crisis.

These past few years have made life difficult for a large number of families who rely on employment as actors, and while this isn't unique to them, it's a field I understand. I thought I'd try to help out a bit.
I'm running the London Marathon on October 2nd.
It will be my third road marathon, and my first in London.
Of course a PB would be nice (current mark is 4h26m31s at Brighton, 2013), but nobody's getting any younger and it would be a shame if an unrealistic goal were to get in the way of what so many say is a wonderful experience.
Oh, yes. Also I haven't been able to get stuck into a legitimate training programme because that involves SO MUCH TIME and I've had quite a lot of parenting to do.
But I'll make it round. Don't you worry.
AND THEN.
On October 22, I'm going to undertake my first Ultra.
As Ultras go, this one is piffling short at just over 31 miles, but the course runs (and unquestionably walks a bit) over the South Downs, the iconic and picturesque Seven Sisters cliffs and Beachy Head (twice) with about 4500 feet of climb (and descent) to deal with.

I have run the Marathon course for the last three years. If you live round here, there's an unspoken understanding that you can't really call yourself a runner if you haven't "run Beachy".
This is the first time they've added an Ultra.
So, why not? What's an extra 5 miles between friends?
I guess I'll find out. And let you know.
If you've made it this far, here's another Thank You.
And if you feel able and would like to help the marvellous ACT to help the unfortunate children of fools, I know they would be very grateful indeed.
As would I.
Love and peace to you and yours.
Dan
