My Story

I am 61 years old and have been running for many years but never 10+ miles. I have wanted to run the London marathon to be part of this special fundraising event but knew I would have to improve my stamina and strength so it will be a challenge for me as well as raising money for this special cause.

My charity is Ambitious about Autism, aiming to ensure all autistic children and young people are able to learn, thrive and achieve in the early years, in education, in employment and beyond. Autism is generally considered a spectum condition. Having family closely connected to this spectrum condition helping children with special needs and see another gain a degree as well as write a book, I echo what the charity says, successful support helps to demonstrate how some autistic people are able to live relatively independent lives.

Being able to raise funds through running is a great pleasure and I hope those reading this can see the benefits it can bring to those in need. Since autistic people can have varying learning difficulties they will benefit from the charity's support helping pupils and learners find employment, go on to further education or training, and live fully as part of the communities of their choice.

Thank you for your donation, it will mean a lot to those supported by Ambitious about Autism, see more on www.ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk
