Ben Moss Morris Dances The Marathon! Again!
Ben Moss Morris Dances the Marathon! Again!
My Story
In the time-honoured tradition of Morris dancing the marathon every 5 years, I once again find myself taking to the streets of our fair capital with a pair of hankies in my hands, a set of bells around my legs and a determination to beat my previous times in my heart (5:06:06 in 2012 and 5:24:04 in 2017).
This time around I'll be supporting Rainbow Migration, an amazing charity who support lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) people through the asylum and immigration system. By making a donation you will be enabling them to continue the three main elements of their work:
Service delivery: Providing practical and emotional support to improve self-esteem and confidence, reduce isolation, and help access health services and housing. They also give specialist legal information and advice to LGBTQI+ people who are seeking asylum or making partnership applications to live in the UK with their partners. They have partnerships with several law firms to whom they can refer their asylum clients for quality legal representation.
Influencing: Carrying out campaigning, policy work and strategic litigation to improve the asylum and immigration system. They also engage directly with civil servants, parliamentarians, the government and the judiciary to create change.
Training and supporting other organisations: Working with lawyers, charities, the Home Office and others to improve the asylum and immigration system and services for LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum.
