My Story

Alfie Marsh

From Ski racing back in High School I became a ski instructor swiftly after I left and absolutely fell in love with it instantly! I continued instructing for a further 4 years on and off whilst also progressing my filmmaking career at the same time. I have had some of the best memories of my life whilst being a ski instructor; from meeting some of my closest friends that were other instructors and shredding the mountain with them after our lessons to learning about the different countries and cultures whilst teaching abroad. But definitely the most impactful was working with all the kids, able bodied and disabled. Seeing them at the start of the week having never put on a ski, to the end where we could all ski the mountain together and have fun. Seeing the passion and happiness that that created for them has to be some of the most fulfilling moments in my life and I cherish the memories still.

The reason why I'm so happy to be fundraising for DSUK via the challenge of the London Marathon is because I know from personal experience the impact and positive effect that these sports can have and I want to try and do as much as I can for people to experience that! It changed my life for the better so I hope it can do the same for others!
