My Story

My Grandpa, Edwin Cotton, was cared for by Wakefield hospice during his battle with cancer when i was 7 years old. He passed away on 26th Sept 2002 at the age of 60. This year, 2022, would be his 80th birthday and the day of the race this year is exactly a week before the 20th anniversary of his passing. The hospice provided essential end of life care for my Grandpa and the priceless support network for family and friends throughout the most difficult of times. 

Being from Wakefield, I know my story is just one of many. Friends and relatives all owe the Hospice our deepest gratitude for all they do. 

Since 2017 I have tried to challenege myself every few years with a fundraiser. I have done two 10K's and a half marathon. So a marathon was the next step and what better way to do it than London Marathon. 

The training has started and i hope to keep you all up to date with my progress until the event. 

All donations are appreciated no matter how small.
