My Story

Hi Everyone,

Soo, I did something mad and signed up to the London marathon! I am running the marathon for a charity which is very near and dear to my heart - The Wakefield Hospice.

For those of you who don’t know, I lost my Dad to terminal lung cancer a couple of years ago. He was battling cancer for 2 years and the Wakefield Hospice played such a massive part in providing comfortable palliative care during his final days.

I don’t think I appreciated the importance of charities that provide quality end of life care until witnessing the severe discomfort my Dad was going through and feeling utterly helpless.

The Wakefield Hospice treated my dad with amazing respect and were able to effectively manage his pain during his final months. They were also super supportive to us as a family during the pandemic, ensuring that me and my family were able to visit him as we wished - for that I am forever grateful!

I am feeling pretty terrified(🫣 ) for the marathon and it is going to be a massive challenge but I am super excited to be fundraising for this charity so that they are able to continue to provide amazing support for families during their hardest times.

Learn more about them here :)

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to read my page, to those supporting me through the marathon, and to those who are able to donate. I appreciate you all v much!
